Having issues with connecting to a Vista client.

Instructions to use NetSupport 24/7 Console on a Vista OS.

  1. Open the Internet Explorer Window and access www.netsupport247.com.
  2. On the Internet Explorer tool bar it will state the security level, by default this will state Protected Mode: ON
  3. Double Click the Internet Explorer Status bar to open the Security options.
  4. Uncheck the Option for Protected Mode when the Internet Zone is selected. (as well as the Trusted Site Zone)
  5. Next Ensure that www.NetSupport247.com is added to the trusted site list.
  6. Finally click ok to apply the settings a warning message will appear state ok to continue with protected mode disabled.
  7. Close down the Internet Explorer Window for the setting to take affect.
  8. Open the Internet Explorer Window and access www.netsupport247.com.
  9. Logon to the Operator Console.
  10. Now you will notice that the Status Bar show the www.netsupport247.com site as Trusted and that protected mode is off.
  11. Test the Remote control option.

If the problem persists confirm the above setting is correct and then check for any prompts in the Internet Explorer windows in the Console requesting to download and install the Remote Control component, just in case this has not been correctly installed.

You may experience issues connecting to a Vista OS because UAC is enabled, please follow the below to resolve this.

  1. Please ensure the Administrator Account on the Vista machine is enabled with a Password.
  2. Next, click Start, click All Programs.
  3. Click Accessories.
  4. Click Run.
  5. Then type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
  6. When the System Configuration dialog window appears, select the Tools Tab.
  7. Scroll down and select: Disable UAC (User Account Control)
  8. Next, click on Launch and then in order to implement the changes you must reboot the Vista machine.

Once restarted please can you try and remote control a machine from the Windows Vista Operator Console.
