There a few ways to diagnose issue's when Undelete 2009 is not playing nicely.

Things to check before trying anything below:

• Make sure you have mutually excluded your Anti-Virus software, also make sure that the Anti-Virus software is set to exclude the Undelete Recovery Bin.
• The above also applies to any Backup solutions you might be running. Please make sure you exclude the Recovery Bin in the Backup software as well as excluding the software in Undelete.
• Make sure you go through and exclude all the files/folders on the drive that you do not want to backup anyway. The reason for this is that, some applications actually generate temp files, which are then deleted soon after. These are some of the files you do NOT want to be captured in Undelete.

If you are experiencing files building up in the "In Progress" folder, this is generally due to permissions, usually this can be fixed with a complete run of the CACLS program that Windows comes with.

The command line for this is(Needs to be run on the root drive having troubles): CACLS * /e /t /c /g Administrators:F SYSTEM:F

Another reason Undelete may be having trouble is disk corruption, some files/folders may be corrupted which is causing Undelete to have trouble. To resolve this you will need to run "chkdsk /r".
