Manually editing the client32.ini file

Manually editing the client32.ini file

Summary

This Document applies to NetSupport Manager Versions 4.10 and later, and NetSupport School/Inform Versions 3.11 and later.

The Client configuration file Client32.ini is a text file that contains the majority of settings used by the Client to set the way it behaves, this file can only be used by the NetSupport Client if it contains a valid checksum value. If the Client Configurator is used to alter settings the Client configuration files checksum is automatically updated. However, if the configuration file is edited manually then the checksum will not be valid and the Client will report an error and fail to load.

PCI provides a command line executable to update the checksum for the Client configuration file this utility is called CKSINI.EXE.

Details

The CKSINI.EXE utility can be used to apply a new Checksum value to the Client configuration file.

The Syntax for the CKSINI utility is:

CKSINI FILENAME
