Summary

We often recieve questions on how Diskeeper may interfere on a physical platforms running multiple virtual machines.

More Information

The main issue is the types of technology used with block level backup and defragmentation.

Block level is a portion of a file at a specific location of disk. Defragmentation moves the physical or virtual file to a single location. Therefor changing blocks.

As the blocks are changed the backups task requirements are increased.

Resolution

1. Optimize the disk to remove all fragmentation

2. Turn off InvisiTasking

3. Rely on intelliwrite because all files will then be written without fragmentation as a result

**Diskeeper will still continue to provide you fantastic peformance by reduceing the fragmentation creation. This in turn assures that your read and writes are as fast as possible without having any process overheads. Intelliwrite is known to prevent as much as 85% of file fragmentation.
