Northern Storage Suite can operate on 64 bit Windows environments in Compatibility mode only.
Support for Windows Server 2008, 64bit and cluster configurations requires some heavy changes in the QS filter. Microsoft has made certain requirements of all driver developers to change the nature of their architectures - moving to something dubbed a File System Minifilter architecture. Work on Northern's new driver began during the late summer and the implementation phase is nearing completion. Now, the test cycle for this new driver is extensive. As we cannot be certain how these tests will go, other than to assume multiple repetitions in the early stages of the process, it is very difficult to estimate when we will be able to release the new driver. In order to ensure that we 'under promise and over deliver' we are using a date of mid-Q2 2009 when communicating an ETA.
