Black / Blank screen when connecting to a Client

Summary:

Blank Screen or Unstable system at Client after install of NetSupport School.

This is a problem with the GDI Video Hook, either it has not been correctly installed by the NetSupport installation, or there is a conflict with something, usually video drivers.

Resolution:

  1. Restart the computer in question.
  2. If above does not solve this situation, restart the video hook by executing the following: "C:\Program Files\NetSupport\NetSupport School\WINSTALL.EXE" /V
  3. Once the above is complete, restart the computer. If you are still experiencing issue's move to the next step.
  4. Uninstall any video driver, eg: Nvidia, ATi. Once this is complete, restart the computer.
  5. Reinstall your video drivers to the latest version.
  6. If all the above does not resolve the issue you can enable "Screen Scraping" which will bypass the Video Hook and use the NetSupport software instead.
